Rationale

Emerge (EmergeLocal, Inc.) is a digital and creative marketing agency for growing businesses and enterprises that already have an established presence in their respective industries.

In the last decade, we’ve helped at least 50 brands build their online presence and achieve rapid results from ROI-driven digital campaigns.

We are a battle-tested creative team (and fun to work with too) who are passionate about designing, building, automating, and optimizing high-converting and meaningful campaigns for our clients. It’s something that we’ve been awesomely doing in the past decade with only one goal – drive revenues for our clients.

Description of the Challenge

Emerge is all about customer experience, adopting a digital-first approach to a brand’s marketing making sure you’re easier to find online, with engaging content, reaching your target audience, and making the right business decisions online.

If you want your customers to discover your business online, live by the rules of digital-first. Be part of the digital-first world.

To put it simply, being digital-first is being present at every digital screen whenever and wherever your customers are.

This challenge intends to highlight the rapid changing consumer market and the way they think, select, and shop in the digital world. And most importantly, why businesses should have an online presence and have a digital-first approach to their marketing.

When you develop your digital artwork, you can think of this question: “Why is it vital for businesses to adapt the digital-first approach to reach their customers?”

This contest would be done completely online, from the submission of entries to the announcement of the winners.

In the end, the winners will receive PHP 5,000 Grand Prize and PHP 1,000 Consolation Prize and their artworks will be featured in Emerge’s digital platforms.

Requirements

All entries must be created with digital technology and must be submitted as a static digital image such as but not limited to:

  • Graphic Poster
  • Dynamic Painting
  • 2D or 3D Computer Graphics
  • Pixel Art
  • Photo-painting
  • Manual Vector Drawing
  • Mixed Media and Hybrid Painting
  • Computer-Generated Painting

Eligibility

  • The challenge is open to all Filipino bonafide students who are currently enrolled in colleges and universities in the Philippines for the academic year 2022-2023, residing in the Philippines, aged 18 and above.
  • Participant should submit original creative output highlighting the theme:

“Digital-First is the New Rule”

Rules and Regulations

  • All entries should be in high resolution JPEG format, preferably with minimum dimensions of 1440 x 1920 pixels, at 600 dpi. The Google form accepts a maximum of 10MB, if over please compress the file in ZIP format.
  • Each entry must be accompanied by an Artist’s Statement or short description of the digital artwork.
  • The following entries are disqualified:
  • Entries with elements that infringe on the intellectual property rights of other individuals, organizations, or others creative sources;
  • Animated works or moving electronic imagery;
  • Migrated or scanned into digital formats from manual process such as hand drawing, traditional painting, or printmaking; and
  • Entries that violate trademark and copyright laws, and those with explicit and malicious content that incites prejudice on race, sex, religion, and other forms of human and animal rights.

Criteria for

Selection of Winners

  • Winners will be announced on December 17, 2022.
  • The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, whose decisions will be final.
  • Entries will be judged according to the following merits:
  • Originality of the work concept – 40%
  • Unity of Composition of Elements – 20%
  • Relevance to the Theme and Interpretation – 20%
  • Online Voting - 20%

Submission of Entries

  • Only one entry per contestant shall be allowed.
  • The period of submission of entries will begin at 12:00 p.m. of November 14, 2022 and will end at 11:59 p.m. of December 12, 2022. Late submissions—as indicated under electronic time stamps—will be automatically disqualified.
  • Contestants must fill out all the required fields in the Google Entry Form provided, to establish the Artist’s profile and the confirmation of his/her original work

  • Entry files should be named as follows: [TITLE OF ARTWORK artist’s full name.jpg]
  • Entries with incomplete details or requirements are automatically disqualified.
  • By submitting an entry, the Contestant agrees to all of the Competition’s rules, conditions, and mechanics, including the decision of the jury.
  • Participation in the contest is free-of-charge and does not require any registration fee.
  • Questions about the competition may be submitted to hello@emergelocal.com, but only entries submitted using the provided Google form link will be honored.

Prizes

  • The top entry will receive PHP 5,000 and a certificate.
  • Three entries will also receive a consolation prize of PHP 1,000 and a certificate.
  • Winners will be notified via email and announced on Emerge’s official Facebook page and other social media channels.
  • Cash prizes will be awarded through bank transfers.
  • For winning entries, Emerge will be granted a written authority by the artist to use or publish the digital images for the promotion of art and creativity in its various programs.
